To use your Samsung Galaxy A40 to send and receive e-mails, you need:
* An e-mail account with an internet service provider.
* Login information for ingoing and outgoing e-mail servers.
Now follow the instructions to set up your e-mail.
* Go to the Start screen.
* To open the menu, swipe up or down on the screen.
* Choose *Samsung*.
* Choose *Email*.
* If this screen appears, choose the list symbol. Choose the settings symbol and then *Add account*.

* Choose *Other*.

* Scroll down.
* Under *POP3 server*, enter [[sp_email_pop]]
* Under *Security type*, choose [[sp_email_sectype]].
* Under *Port*, enter [[sp_email_popport]]
* Scroll down.
* Under *Auto delete from phone*, choose an option.
* Under *SMTP server*, enter [[sp_email_smtp]]
* Under *Security type*, choose [[sp_email_smtp_sectype]].
* Scroll down.
* Under *Port*, enter [[sp_email_smtpport]]
* If *Require authentication to send emails* is disabled, enable *Require authentication to send emails*.
* If *Require authentication to send emails* is enabled, go to the next step.
* Choose the text box and enter [[sp_email_smtp_username]]
* Choose the text box and enter [[sp_email_smtp_password]]
* Choose *Sign in*.
* The information will be verified.
* If an error message is displayed, verify the settings and choose *Sign in*.
* The e-mail account has been configured and is ready for use.
* Return to the Start screen.
* Start screen.
* Switch your Samsung Galaxy A40 off and then on again to activate the settings.
* This mobile phone can now be used to send and receive e-mails.
