Samsung A500FU Galaxy A5 E-mail Manual configuration

To use your Samsung Galaxy A5 to send and receive e-mails, you need:

• An e-mail account with an internet service provider.
• Login information for ingoing and outgoing e-mail servers. Click here for more information.
• An active internet connection. Click here for instructions.

  Now follow the instructions to set up your e-mail.

• Start screen.
• Switch your Samsung Galaxy A5 off and then on again to activate the settings.
• This mobile phone can now be used to send and receive e-mails. Click here for instructions on how to send e-mails.

• Go to the Start screen.
• Choose Apps.

• Choose Email.

• If this screen appears, choose the options symbol. Then, choose Settings, choose Manage accounts and choose the plus symbol.
• If this screen does not appear, go to the next step.

• Choose Email address and enter [[sp_email_address]]
• Choose Password and enter [[sp_email_password]]

• Choose Manual setup.

• Choose IMAP account.

• Under Username, enter [[sp_email_username]]
• Under Password, enter [[sp_email_password]]

• Scroll down.
• Under IMAP server, enter [[sp_email_imap]]
• Under Security type, choose [[sp_email_sectype]].
• Under Port, enter [[sp_email_imapport]]

• Choose Next.

• The information will be verified.
• If an error message is displayed, verify the settings and choose Next.

• Under SMTP server, enter [[sp_email_smtp]]
• Under Security type, choose [[sp_email_smtp_sectype]].
• Under Port, enter [[sp_email_smtpport]]

• Scroll down.
• If Require sign-in is unticked, tick Require sign-in.
• If Require sign-in is ticked, go to the next step.

• Under User name, enter [[sp_email_smtp_username]]
• Under Password, enter [[sp_email_smtp_password]]
• Choose Next.

• The information will be verified.
• If an error message is displayed, verify the settings and choose Next.

• Under Period to sync Email, choose an option.
• Under Sync schedule, choose an option.
• Under Peak schedule, choose an option.

• Optional: tick one or more options.
• Choose Next.

• Under Give this account a name (Optional), enter [[sp_email_name]]
• Under Your name (Displayed on outgoing messages), enter your name
• Choose Done.

• The e-mail account has been configured and is ready for use.
• Return to the Start screen.
