HTC Desire 816 E-mail Manual configuration

To use your HTC Desire 816 to send and receive e-mails, you need:

• An e-mail account with an internet service provider.
• Login information for ingoing and outgoing e-mail servers. Click here for more information.
• An active internet connection. Click here for instructions.

Now follow the instructions to set up your e-mail.

• Go to the Start screen.
• Choose the menu symbol.

• Choose Mail.

• If this screen appears, choose the options symbol. Choose Add account.
• If this screen does not appear, go to the next step.

• Choose Other (POP3/IMAP).

• Choose Email address and enter [[sp_email_address]]
• Choose Password and enter [[sp_email_password]]

• Choose MANUAL SETUP.

• Choose POP.

• Tick an option, in this case POP.

• Scroll down.
• Under USERNAME, enter [[sp_email_username]]
• Under PASSWORD, enter [[sp_email_password]]

• Scroll down.
• Under POP SERVER, enter [[sp_email_pop]]
• Under SECURITY TYPE, choose [[sp_email_sectype]].

• Scroll down.
• Under SERVER PORT, enter [[sp_email_popport]]
• Choose NEXT.

• The information will be verified.
• If an error message is displayed, verify the settings and choose NEXT.

• Untick Login required if this option is ticked.
• If Login required is unticked, go to the next step.

• Under SMTP SERVER, enter [[sp_email_smtp]]
• Under SECURITY TYPE, choose [[sp_email_smtp_sectype]].

• Scroll down.
• Under SERVER PORT, enter [[sp_email_smtpport]]
• Choose NEXT.

• The information will be verified.
• If an error message is displayed, verify the settings and choose NEXT.

• Under ACCOUNT NAME, enter [[sp_email_name]]
• Under YOUR NAME, enter your name
• Choose FINISH SETUP.

• The e-mail account has been configured, and is ready for use.
• Return to the Start screen.

• Start screen.
• Switch your HTC Desire 816 off and then on again to activate the settings.
